Southeast Asian squad Xipto Gaming is the lone Pacific contender in the Final Four of the 2024 Valorant Game Changers World Championship ongoing now at Berlin, Germany.
This comes after a reverse-sweep over Latin American squad KRU BLAZE, 2-1, in their lower bracket playoffs match at the Riot Games Arena.
This is the second year in a row that Camille "Kamiyu" Enriquez, Kelly "shirazi" Jaudian, Alexandria "Alexy" Francisco, Odella "enerii" Abraham, and Ryona Shannen "Tarathiel" Tan cracked through the Final Four of the competition. They were under the Team SMG banner during last year's edition of Valorant's global tournament for women and marginalized genders.
Down 1-0, Xipto won tight contests in Abyss and Pearl to eliminate the Sergio Aguero-founded squad from the competition. Kamiyu starred in the 3-game series, collecting an average combat score of 258. The squad's star duelist Enerii followed with an ACS of 228.
This was a crucial win for Xipto which went on the brink of elimination after a 0-2 beating by defending champions Shopify Rebellion, led by Indonesian-American Melanie "MeL" Capone and Ava "Florescent" Eugene in an earlier match. Prior to its loss against Shopify, Xipto had a 38-game winning streak spanning from the Southeast Asian, and the Pacific regional qualifiers.
They will be joining Shopify Rebellion, G2 Gozen, and MIBR GC as the remaining teams in the playoffs. Xipto has the chance to improve its 4th place standing from last year when it faces MIBR GC on November 16 (2 PM GMT+8).
