The Sacramento Kings, fresh off a blockbuster trade that sent De'Aaron Fox to Spurs for Zach LaVine, face the red-hot Minnesota Timberwolves.

The Sacramento Kings head to Minnesota for a Western Conference showdown against the Timberwolves, looking to bounce back from a rough stretch.

Sacramento was recently involved in a three-team trade, sending away their best player, De’Aaron Fox, in exchange for Zach LaVine. However, LaVine is unlikely to make his debut in this matchup, leaving the Kings slightly shorthanded. That said, the team has actually performed better without Fox in recent games, as Malik Monk and DeMar DeRozan have taken on more ball-handling duties. Fox, knowing he was on the trading block, appeared to lose focus before the deal was finalized.

Despite dropping four of their last five games, the Kings enter this matchup as only slight underdogs. Meanwhile, the Timberwolves have been red-hot, winning five straight—including victories over top-tier teams like Dallas, Denver, and Phoenix—before an unexpected loss to Washington.

Given the betting line, I believe the Kings are the right play here. With the trade deadline uncertainty behind them and the roster set for the rest of the season, Sacramento should be motivated to start fresh. I’m taking the Kings with the points in this one.

Current Odds:

Spread: Sacramento Kings +4.5 | Minnesota Timberwolves -4.5

Moneyline: Minnesota Timberwolves 1.50 | Sacramento Kings 2.56

Over/Under: Over 221.5 | Under 221.5

Odds from Arena Plus.

Hot Trends:

  • Sacramento is 4-1 against the spread (ATS) in their last 5 road games at Minnesota.

  • Minnesota is 1-10 ATS in their last 11 games.

Sanjay’s Pick: Sacramento Kings +4.5
