Hong Kong’s Jockey Club operates the lottery in the special administrative region, holding a monopoly in horse racing, football betting, and lottery operations in the area.
According to the Hong Kong Jockey club, 54% of total bets are allocated to the prize pool, 25% goes to betting duty, 15% is designated for charitable contributions, and 6% is retained by the Jockey Club as commission.
Betting outlets across the city piled up with punters who queued for minutes for a hand at the record-breaking jackpot.
