Gaming Corps – a publicly-listed game development company based in Sweden – has been granted a license by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO), allowing the company to develop and distribute its gaming content in Ontario – one of North America’s most commercially valuable and tightly regulated iGaming markets.

With the license now in place, Gaming Corps has already signed agreements with several leading Ontario-licensed operators and is planning a strategical roll out of content in the near future. At launch, the company will go live with a selection of its top-performing, sports-themed titles tailored to local demand, including Hoop Champion and Shootout Champion.

Juha Kauppinen, CEO at Gaming Corps, said: "Being approved for a license in Ontario is a major achievement and a clear validation of the quality, integrity, and compliance standards we uphold. Ontario is not only one of the most regulated iGaming markets in the world, but also a gateway into the wider North American region. This license opens up significant opportunities for Gaming Corps and reinforces our commitment to working only within licensed and regulated jurisdictions. With a growing appetite for original content, we’re excited about the potential Ontario holds – both in terms of player engagement and long-term growth.”

Ontario, home to over 15 million residents, has rapidly emerged as a key market since opening to private operators in 2022. According to iGaming Ontario, the province generated more than CAD 2.4 billion in gross revenue in 2023 alone, supported by over 1.2 million active player accounts and more than 40 licensed operators.

Gaming Corps’ game portfolio – renowned for its non-traditional formats and proprietary game engines – aligns with the demand in Ontario for unique and differentiated content. In addition to existing partnerships, the company is actively pursuing further collaborations with local operators, including those holding rights to major sports brands.
