Only one Filipino team remained in the hunt for the Honor of Kings world championship title.
After becoming the first Filipino team to beat a Malaysian squad with the 3-2 win over Team Secret in round 1 of the knockout stages, Blacklist International fell to home squad Dominator Esports 0-3, to move down to the elimination bracket, after their encounter last October 20, 2024.
Blacklist International will face Malaysian squad Nova Esports on October 25 for survival.
Meanwhile, Filipino powerhouse BOOM Esports succumbed to Malaysia’s NOVA Esports to exit early into the playoffs stage.
Home team Dominator Esports of Indonesia and Malaysia Black Shrew Esports will be facing each other for the first Grand Finals slot on Saturday, October 26.
The 2024 Honor of Kings World Championship was is the first crowning series open to global teams after HOK made the game available outside of China this year.
Honor of Kings Shares Roadmap for 2025
Honor of Kings also unveiled its 2025 esports roadmap, outlining a series of exciting events and initiatives to elevate the game's competitive scene.
Key highlights include the Honor of Kings Invitational Season 3, a global event slated for spring 2025 near Jakarta, and the Honor of Kings Invitational Midseason, set to take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, with a substantial prize pool.
The season will culminate in the Honor of Kings Championship, although specific details regarding location and date are yet to be announced. Additionally, two new regional leagues, Honor of Kings Major East and Honor of Kings Major West, will be introduced to provide more frequent competition.
Finally, a global ban system will be implemented for the pick/ban phase of best-of series, ensuring a more strategic and dynamic competitive landscape.
