Philippines President greenlights new casinos in top tourist island Boracay
The government has given a go-signal allowing casinos in Boracay, an island with no such venues operating so far. The decision follows government efforts to increase funds for Covid-19 response. Gaming regulator PAGCOR will start accepting applications: a proposed joint venture between Macau’s Galaxy Entertainment and local Leisure and Resorts World Corp could come back into the spotlight, while local license holder Alliance Global Group announced plans to build a casino.
