The World Poker Tour (WPT) will be returning to Jeju Island, South Korea, with the highly anticipated Jeju Poker Festival at the Landing Casino, WPT announced in a press release.

Scheduled from November 15 to December 1, this year’s festival features a major highlight: the WPT Korea Championship, running from November 16-22.

“Landing Casino at Jeju Shinhwa World is again honored and excited to partner with WPT in hosting the WPT Korea Championship this coming November. Poker tours in Korea are on a steady increase, and the events held at Jeju Shinhwa World with outstanding partners such as WPT add to the excitement and growth of poker in the region,” said Jenny Lim, Chief Operating Officer at Landing Casino.

The tournament boasts a buy-in of 2,500,000 KRW (approximately $1,860) and a staggering prize pool guarantee of 1.68 billion KRW (US$1.25 million).

WPT CEO Adam Pliska expressed enthusiasm for returning to this popular venue, noting Jeju’s growing reputation as a key stop on the WPT circuit.

“Jeju Island is a sensational location and has become a popular stop on the WPT schedule,” Pliska said.

“Thanks to our partners at Landing Casino and Red Dragon who have spearheaded the planning to bring WPT Korea back for a second time this season.”

This event will mark the third WPT Korea tournament in three years, with the previous tournaments showcasing significant participation and prize winnings.

Alongside the championship, participants can also look forward to two other major events: the Korea Poker Cup and the Red Dragon Poker Tour.

With a reputation for spectacular landscapes and a vibrant gaming scene, Jeju Island continues to attract poker enthusiasts, and this event promises to elevate the local poker culture even further.
