Team Liquid ID Outlasts RRQ, Clinches MPL Indonesia Title In 4-3 Thriller
Team Liquid ID are the new Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) Indonesia champions. They defeated the top-seeded RRQ in a high-stakes Grand Finals showdown, 4-3, held in Bandung, Indonesia on October 27, 2024.
This was the organization’s first-ever MPL Indonesia title, and second overall since Team Liquid bought the rights to STUN.GG. The Indonesian esports organization had both M4 and two-time MPL PH champs ECHO (now Team Liquid PH) and MPL Indonesia franchise team Aura Fire (now Team Liquid ID) under their wing.
This hard-fought victory marked a remarkable achievement for Team Liquid ID, which secured the championship despite entering the finals as the second seed, finishing the regular season with an impressive record of 12-4, trailing RRQ’s 13-3 record.
Team Liquid ID showcased exceptional teamwork and strategic prowess throughout the finals, overcoming RRQ’s early dominance to claim the title. The Grand Finals attracted an astonishing 3.9 million viewers, according to Esports Charts.
The team featured two Filipino talents, former ECHO players Yawi and Jeymz, who were benched throughout the season.
Both Team Liquid ID and RRQ Hoshi will next see action in the M6 World Championship, which will be held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from November 21 to December 15, 2024.
