Tourist Boom: Philippines Sees 16% Rise in Arrivals
In the first five months of 2024, the Philippines welcomed almost 2.4 million foreign tourists, demonstrating the country’s booming tourism industry. Comparing this to the same time last year, there has been a 16.3% increase.
With about 26.6 percent of all immigrants coming from there, South Korea is the top source nation.
While arrivals from China increased significantly by 93.9% over the previous year, those from the United States stayed steady. Arrivals in Japan increased by 44.8%, which was also a huge increase.
This remarkable outcome bolsters the Philippines’ objective of drawing 7.7 million foreign tourists by 2024—a figure that will surpass the record-breaking 5.45 million visits in the previous year.
