The first half of 2024’s World Poker Tour (WPT) calendar, which features two significant Southeast Asian events, has been revealed.

It will be the first event of its kind in Southeast Asia when the Mike Sexton WPT Champions Cup takes place at NagaWorld in Cambodia. With a guaranteed prize pool of US$1 million, the US$3,500 Cambodia Championship Event will be held from January 25 to 29, coinciding with WPT Cambodia, which runs from January 17 to January 30. NagaWorld, which has hosted record-breaking WPT Prime events in the past, was praised by WPT President and CEO Adam Pliska for being a fantastic partner.

In 2019, the WPT paid NagaWorld its first visit. In Phnom Penh, Cambodia, NagaCorp Ltd. operates the monopoly casino NagaWorld. On May 23, the Crown Poker Club in Hanoi, Vietnam will host WPT Prime Vietnam for the third time. The championship event will cost VND25.0 million (about US$1,015).

Furthermore, WPT has planned a full tour schedule for 2024, including stops on a Virgin Voyages cruise ship in the Caribbean that will include WPT Voyage and WPT Voyage Prime events. These achievements demonstrate how popular and constantly growing the poker business is in Southeast Asia and other far-flung places.
