Wimbledon 2022 men’s finals Kyrgios vs. Djokovic

July 11, 2022 World Sports

Nick Kyrgios gained a bye to the Wimbledon finals after Rafa Nadal withdrew from the semis injured. He will face defending champion Novak Djokovic on Centre Court.

Wimbledon reaches its climax on Sunday with all eyes on Centre Court, celebrating its 100th anniversary this year, and where defending champion Novak Djokovic and Nick Kyrgios will contest the Men’s final. Yesterday, Elena Rybakina beat Ons Jabeur to become the youngest champion at Wimbledon since 2011, winning the Women’s final 3-6, 6-2, 6-2.

Rafael Nadal’s bid for a calendar Grand Slam was thwarted by an abdominal tear which he suffered during his quarter final match against Taylor Fritz. He powered through, won, and moved on to the semi-final against Australian Nick Kyrgios, but eventually had to withdraw due to the injury.
