Malaysia’s Black Shrew Esports Conquers Honor Of Kings World Championship

Malaysia’s Black Shrew Esports (BSE) took home the trophy at the Honor of Kings Championship 2024 after sweeping Indonesia’s Dominator Esports, 4-0. This took place during the grand finals held at the Kemang Village in Indonesian capital Jakarta, October 27, 2024.

BSE, which acquired the players of HOK Invitational S2 champions LGD Gaming, further cemented their place as the best Honor of Kings team outside of China, earning $300,000–the lion’s share of a $1 million prize pool.

BSE were the clear favorites in the playoffs, keeping its place in the upper bracket to get the early slot in the Grand Finals.

Dominator, paraded by five Indonesians and a Filipino, lost to BSE in the lower bracket, before regaining composure and defeating Team Secret to finally secure the last Grand Finals seat.

The tournament also featured teams from Brazil, Philippines, Hong Kong, Myanmar, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and France. This was the first world championship of HOK since the game was made available outside of China.

HONOR OF KINGS ROADMAP 2025

Prior to this, Level Infinite introduced a roadmap for Honor of Kings’ esports scene in 2025, revealing Honor of Kings Major East And West.

James Yang, Level Infinite’s Senior Director of Global Esports Center, said this seeks to give more opportunities for teams and players.

The midseason tournament, first held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia under the Esports World Cup will also make its comeback next year.

Honor of Kings also introduced the first localized Indonesian hero, called Garuda Khageswara, which launches early 2025, while also introducing a global ban system.
