Star Brisbane to launch gradually from Aug 29
The Star Entertainment Group Ltd. announced Sunday that The Star Brisbane, depicted in an artist’s rendering, will begin opening its facilities on August 29. This long-awaited AUD3.6 billion (US$2.4 billion) casino resort project at Queen’s Wharf, Brisbane, Queensland, Australia, has faced multiple delays in its launch date.
In its latest update, the company outlined a phased opening plan starting in August and continuing throughout 2024. The initial phase will include the main casino floor, premium gaming rooms, and the Dorsett and Rosewood hotel towers. Specific details on the commencement of gaming operations were not disclosed.
Daniel Finch, CEO of The Star Brisbane, highlighted that new restaurants, bars, and public spaces will progressively open, revitalizing the 12-hectare riverfront site. He emphasized the importance of thorough preparation to ensure an exceptional guest experience and noted that not all facilities will be operational immediately on August 29.
The integrated resort, part of the Queen’s Wharf Brisbane complex developed by the Destination Brisbane Consortium, is set to become a prominent regional attraction.
