Newport World Resorts Shakes Up Leadership Team
This past weekend, Newport World Resorts (formerly Resorts World Manila) announced significant leadership changes.
Longtime CEO Kingson Sian retired, and CFO Bernard Than and COO Hakan Dagtas resigned.
This comes after Genting Hong Kong’s stake in Travellers International Hotel Group was purchased by Alliance Global Group (AGI) in May 2023.
The resort was previously renamed Newport World Resorts from Resorts World Manila in July 2022 as a result of Genting’s financial difficulties.
Nilo Rodriguez, a seasoned casino veteran, assumes the role of CEO, while Lance Gautreaux, a former chief strategy officer, becomes COO. Each brings a wealth of experience to their new roles.
Although the news shocked many, Newport explains that Sian’s retirement was long planned but had to be delayed because to the epidemic and the AGI takeover.
With this change of leadership, Newport World Resorts under AGI’s ownership enters a new chapter.
