Las Vegas Sands Bets Big on “Smart Tables” for Gambling’s Future
Robert Goldstein, the chairman of Las Vegas Sands, has committed to investing the full amount of his firm on smart gaming tables because he believes they will be the future of gambling. “Smart tables” automate tasks that were formerly completed by human dealers, enhancing marketing, security, and customer experience.
Myths regarding their impact on the player experience were debunked by Goldstein, who emphasized their importance in revolutionizing the business.
Along with six other Macau casino owners, Sands is the latest to adopt smart tables, having previously used them in Macau and Singapore.
Although Sands uses a hybrid system that incorporates artificial intelligence and RFID, the degree of automation varies.
This announcement precedes a panel discussion on smart gaming tables at G2E Asia, which will be facilitated by Ben Blaschke of Inside Asian Gaming. It appears that the industry is placing a large wager on this ground-breaking technology.
