Macau Tourism Booms: South Korea, Thailand Lead Foreign Visitors

The tourism industry in Macau is growing again! A surge in travelers was observed in the first four months, with package excursions leading the way. There were nearly 720,000 visitors, up 258% from the previous year.

Main Land Although South Korea (7,896% growth) and Thailand (449% growth) saw notable gains in tour group numbers, China continued to be the dominant supplier. Outside of China, the number of arrivals climbed by 2,292%.

With an average occupancy rate of 83.3% in April, hotels are also celebrating. Macau has 13 more hotels this year, or roughly 10% more rooms than in 2023. The future of Macau’s tourism sector looks bright!
