ACMA Cracks Down on Illegal Gambling Sites

May 24, 2024 Australia Crime & LegaliGaming & Gambling

By closing eight more offshore websites, the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) is taking further action against illegal online gaming.

It was found that these websites, which included Lucky Wins and Jogi Casino, violated the nation’s laws governing interactive gaming.

With this move, there are now 975 prohibited unlawful gambling and affiliate websites overall since 2019. More than 220 illegal services have been eliminated from the Australian market as a result of the ACMA’s efforts.

An ACMA official said, “We urge Australians to be cautious when gambling online.” “Illegal sites often lack consumer protections, putting your money and personal information at risk.”

By directing customers to authorised businesses, the crackdown aims to protect Australians from the dangers of excessive gambling.
