Juventus Midfielder Fagioli Returns After Gambling Ban
Juventudes midfielder Nicolo Fagioli will play again today when his gambling ban ends.
In the Serie A match at Stadio Renato Dall’Ara against Bologna, which begins at 20:45 CEST, Fagioli is probably going to start.
Officials opened an investigation after learning of Fagioli’s betting activity in late August.
The goal of the study was to follow his betting actions and determine whether he bet on football or used unauthorized websites.
The prospect of a harsh sentence and a three-year football suspension was quite real.
Ultimately, Fagioli was hit with a 12-month sentence that could be reduced earlier provided specific requirements are fulfilled.
This necessitates spending at least six months in a treatment program for gambling addiction.
The recent rise in football-related fines stemming from gambling aligns with Fagioli’s comeback. Ivan Toney, a striker for Brentford, violated betting regulations last year, and the Football Association punished him by fineing him £50,000 and suspending him for eight months.
After acknowledging 232 crimes, Toney was immediately suspended.
Recalling what happens when professional athletes break gambling regulations is made easier by the Fagioli case.
He completes his recuperation with this return, and he gets another chance to play for Juventus.
