Solaire Casino’s Charity Arm Launches Scholarship Program to Combat Doctor Shortage
The nonprofit division of Solaire Resort Entertainment City, the Bloomberry Cultural Foundation (BCFI), is working to solve a critical shortage of medical professionals in the Philippines.
The goal of the BCFI’s new nationwide scholarship program is to produce 763 graduates in the fields of nursing, medicine, allied health, and caregiving.
The program tackles a major issue: many Filipino medical practitioners look for work abroad. It is in partnership with the Pilipinas Shell Foundation (PSFI).
St. Luke’s Medical Center College of Medicine, one of BCFI’s fifteen nationwide university partners, hosted the program’s official launch on May 9.
This dedication to healthcare education coincides with positive first-quarter financial results from BCFI’s parent company, Bloomberry Resorts Corporation.
The company’s gross gaming revenue for the fiscal year that concluded on March 31, 2024, was Php14.8 billion (US$256 million).
