Okada Manila takes part in Earth Hour
The world-famous Fountain and outside lights of the integrated resort Okada Manila in the Philippines were turned off from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Saturday in observance of Earth Hour.
In addition, the hotel dimmed lights in the integrated resort’s Coral and Pearl lobby areas, spa services, and other areas.
“By turning off our facilities and amenities for just an hour, we conserve energy and save a significant amount of electricity in our operations,” said Byron Yip, President and Chief Operating Officer of Okada Manila. “These small, yet impactful, actions demonstrate our commitment to sparking positive environmental change.”
The establishment gave out complimentary beverages to diners and hotel guests in dining spaces and on the gaming floors in observance of Earth Hour. There was a vegan station and treats with an Earth Hour theme at the Medley Buffet.
“We each have a role in fostering change and must act together,” Yip said. “As a Forbes 5-Star hotel and the Philippines’ top integrated resort, Okada Manila joins the worldwide community in pushing for the preservation of the Earth. We want to set exceptional norms for society, not only for today’s benefit but also for future generations.”
