PH police arrests 28 individuals over illegal cockfighting, gambling

People engaged in cockfighting and card games were apprehended by the police.

Over the course of two days, police enforcement in the Philippines detained 28 individuals in three separate incidents for their involvement in illicit gambling businesses. Of them, four staged cockfights, one played Last Two and Swertres, and 23 were detained for playing the card game tong-its.

Of the total number of arrests, 15 were made by the Surigao del Sur Provincial Police Office (SPPO), which was followed by the Surigao del Norte SPPO with 6, the Agusan del Sur SPPO with 5, and the Butuan City Police Office with 2. During these searches, officers also took PHP14,083 in seizures.
