Two Las Vegas Sands board director exits, new member arrives
Two board members have just left Las Vegas Sands Corp, the parent firm of Macau casino operator Sands China Ltd and a well-known casino operator in the United States.
David Levi, a director since January 2015, notified the company of his resignation, which would take effect on January 22, according to reports. On the same day, Nora Jordan, a director since January 2021 and senior counsel at the international legal firm Davis Polk & Wardwell LLP, submitted her resignation.
Las Vegas Sands emphasized in a filing on Thursday that the two directors’ resignations had nothing to do with disagreements with the company on its policies, practices, or way of doing things.
Alain Li was subsequently elected by the board to join, and his appointment became effective on January 22.
Through its subsidiary Sands China Ltd., Las Vegas Sands Corp. not only does business in the United States but also has a substantial presence in the Macau casino sector. In Singapore, it also oversees the Marina Bay Sands casino resort. The company’s ongoing dedication to superior governance and strategic decision-making is shown by the changes in the makeup of the board.
