Marina Bay Sands to hold second edition of arts festival this month

The second edition of the arts festival, “Where Art Takes Shape,” will take place from January 18 to 28 at Singapore’s Marina Bay Sands casino resort.

According to Paul Town, Chief Operating Officer of Marina Bay Sands, the event intends to highlight a variety of artistic forms, including architecture, haute couture, and Michelin-starred works. The event will include large-scale art installations, film screenings, and an art market.

The ART SG art show, which takes place from January 18 to 21, at the Sands Expo & Convention Centre at Marina Bay Sands, will include over 100 galleries from 33 nations and territories. At the same location, 43,000 people attended ART SG’s first event last year.

Two “science and science fiction”-themed art exhibits will be held in the ArtScience Museum at Marina Bay Sands, together with a virtual reality museum. The museum theater will host films and videos by international artists.

In an attempt to improve the festival experience, Marina Bay Sands is marketing a “art trail” with an online map that will guide visitors to 11 art installations across the resort and its surrounds. The fundamental objective is to keep the space lively, friendly, and welcoming while showcasing work that appeals to a wide range of viewers. Marina Bay Sands is managed by Las Vegas Sands Corp., a US-based enterprise.
