PH authorities arrests 225 individuals over illegal gambling operations

During the two-day Simultaneous Anti-Criminality Law Enforcement Operations (SACLEO) from December 15 to 17, 2023, authorities from the Police Regional Office (PRO)-7 launched 124 operations to combat illegal gambling, resulting in the arrest of 225 people and the seizure of roughly P21,000 in cash.

Aside from illegal gambling cases, authorities also confiscated approximately P4 million in illicit substances in different operations. The police seized 725.98 grams of suspected shabu, leading to the arrest of 15 people.

Police collected 120 weapons and detained 10 people in 83 operations targeting stray firearms.

In the pursuit of wanted persons, 80 people were arrested, including 12 those listed as most sought and 68 others as other wanted.

Three alleged drug traffickers were detained in Talisay after a buy-bust operation that lasted from Saturday night to Sunday.

Jevie Amarillo Abasolo alias Ebyang, 26, and his friend Rheel Cainglet Pulpul alias Renz, 28, were detained during the operation in Sitio Laray, Barangay San Roque. The two were discovered in possession of 25 grams of narcotics worth around P170,000.

Meanwhile, Wilbert Delvalle Mayola alias Tating was apprehended on Sunday morning at Sitio Dawis, Barangay Tabunok. He was discovered carrying 15 grams of suspected shabu, worth P102,000.
