Overstaying Chinese POGO worker arrested at PH airport
Chinese national Zhou Xingxing was detained by the Philippine Bureau of Immigration (BI) for overstaying in the country and working for an online gambling company whose regulation license had expired.
Zhou tried to depart for Guangzhou, China, but was stopped at Terminal 3 of Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA).
Zhou was issued an order by the BI to leave the country in January 2023 but had been staying in the country until his attempted departure last Sunday, November 26. He’s now being held by the BI as he waits to be deported.
Commissioner Norman Tansingco of the BI emphasized the agency’s commitment to upholding the law, adding that those who abide by the laws are welcome and that those who do not would face consequences.
