Culinary Union voted in favor of new Wynn Resorts workers contract

November 24, 2023 World Casino & Hotel

The Culinary Union in Las Vegas reports that after seven months of talks, 99% of Wynn Resorts workers voted in favor of a new contract.

This authorization averted what may have been the largest walkout by hotel employees in US history. The accords with Wynn Resorts, MGM Resorts, and Caesars Entertainment were dubbed the “best contracts ever won in nearly nine decades” by the Culinary Union, which represents 40,000 unionized workers in the hospitality industry.

The total compensation for employees at these gaming establishments is anticipated to exceed $2 billion for the course of the five-year agreement. Each employee will get a 10% pay rise as part of this agreement in the first year, for a total of 32% in pay increases throughout the duration of the contract.

The conversation also covered two other important topics: reducing workload and enhancing workplace safety measures. Better terms and conditions for workers in the hotel industry in Las Vegas are secured by this victory, which is crucial for the Culinary Union and its members.
