Number of tourists in Macau during Chong Yeong Festival reaches over 300k
Preliminary figures released by the city’s Public Security Police indicate that 301,705 tourists arrived in Macau in the three days before Monday during the Chong Yeong Festival.
With Macau and Hong Kong celebrating public holidays from Saturday, October 21, to Monday, there were an average of slightly more than 100,000 visitors each day in Macau.
Official data indicates that with 110,468 visitors on Saturday, the pattern was established.
About 34.1% of Macau’s three-day tourist total came from the Border Gate land crossing with Zhuhai in the neighboring province of Guangdong. With 102,791 arrivals during the holiday weekend, the post was Macau’s busiest entry gateway.
Subsequently, the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge had 97,670 arrivals over the course of three days, or 32.4 percent of the total.
