Russia’s Primorye reports 3.1 million visitors in the first nine months of 2023
Russia’s Primorye Entertainment Zone had 3.1 million visitors in the first nine months of the year, a rise of 16% over the same period in 2016. In only the third quarter alone, this number comprises more than 2 million arrivals. Despite the fact that local visitors made up the bulk of visitors, there were 56,000 visitors from abroad, which is ten times more than in 2022.
The tourism industry in the area is gradually regaining its pre-COVID levels. There were 4.5 million visitors in 2018, and there were 5 million in 2019. The conflict between Russia and Ukraine is expected to result in continued international sanctions, which will limit foreign immigration.
Two casinos may be found at the Primorye Entertainment Zone: Tigre de Cristal debuted in 2015 and Shambala is scheduled to open in 2020. Asia-Invest Group LLC had planned to start a third casino project in September, but the Ukraine crisis forced NagaCorp, the company that runs NagaWorld, to postpone another project indefinitely in March 2022.
