Big Daddy Casino Rejects Alleged Connection with Chikoti Praveen Kumar

May 23, 2023 IndiaThailand Crime & Legal

Recent criticism of Big Daddy, an offshore ship-based casino in the Indian state of Goa, was brought on by claims that the casino was connected to Chikoti Praveen Kumar, a gambling investor who operated illegal gambling activities in Thailand. Some even claimed that Big Daddy was expanding his unlawful enterprise.

But now that they’ve spoken out, executives of the Goa casino have denied any connection to the investor and his illegal behavior. According to Inside Asian Gaming, the representatives denounced the allegations, claiming that they were false.

“We would like to clarify that Mr Chikoti Praveen Kumar is not associated with Big Daddy Casino in any capacity,” said the spokesperson of Big Daddy Casino.

A rep for Big Daddy Casino

The officials of Big Daddy Casino noted that their establishment constantly works to preserve a positive reputation and makes every effort to run its business in a transparent manner. The representatives maintained that because the property is dedicated to conducting ethical business, the allegations of ties to Kumar must be false.

The property is not connected to Chikoti Praveen Kumar in terms of investment, ownership, management, or any other part of business, according to representatives of the offshore casino.

During a Thai Police Raid, Kumar was detained

As a point of comparison, Kumar was only recently detained in Thailand for organizing an unauthorized gambling gathering in a local hotel. The Asia Pattaya Hotel was searched by Phuket authorities earlier this month, who discovered Kumar’s operations there. It was crucial to stop unlawful gambling because the police operation took place as debates concerning the legalization of casino resorts were taking place.

From India to Thailand, Kumar and his accomplices had shipped dealers and improvised gambling equipment. Authorities think that the equipment was intended to be utilized for an illegal event. The operation led to the arrest of Kumar and 82 other suspects. Cash, playing cards, numerous computers, a CCTV camera, and other incriminating materials were seized by the police.

At the time, some media outlets speculated that the operations might have been connected to Big Daddy Casino; the casino has since denied this.

Big Daddy Casino is located on a sizable ship that set sail for the first time in 2019. Over its three decks, the 72 meter long and 24 meter wide building contains more than 50,000 square feet of gaming space. There are 100 gaming tables on the premises, distributed among the decks, giving gamers nonstop entertainment.
