Thai Action RPG ‘Farsiders’ Reaches Kickstarter Goal in Less Than a Day
IGN Southeast Asia recently covered the Kickstarter launch of Farsiders, a story-driven action role-playing game. In less than a day, the upcoming Thai game surpassed its funding goal of US$30,000.
Developed by Bangkok-based GambitGhost Studio, the game takes place in a stylised cyberpunk world that is abundant with technology and magic, featuring time travel as a major element of the storyline.
Players assume the role of Cassandra, a member of the time-travelling unit known as Spectralon. They embark on an intense journey across time to meet legendary heroes, discover new spells, and battle against a dark magic terrorist cell called The Soul Syndicate.
A deckbuilding mechanic is employed, allowing players to collect spell cards and combine them with their favourite weapons to create a unique playstyle.
With their newly acquired skills, players can take on over thirty different types of enemies and thrilling bosses with unique mechanics. An energy form called Anima can be used to upgrade skills and weapon attachments are available to provide passive effects in battle.
The Farsiders Kickstarter campaign began on April 5 and will continue until May 5. With the game reaching its initial goal, GambitGhost Studio will now focus on stretch goals.
Backers of the campaign will receive an exclusive “Cassie Support Unit cloak” as a bonus when the game is released. Farsiders is set to debut on Steam, with a console release planned for October 2023.
