Web3 Esport Organizer Announces a New Slate of Competitions

February 13, 2023 World Sports

The Web3 esports tournament organizer plans to host a match between professional athletes, artists, and builders.

In order to maintain the excitement surrounding Web3 esports, W3E, the Web3 esports organizer that hosted the first live Web3 esports competition at Istanbul Blockchain Week 2022, recently announced a series of three tournaments, the W3E Creator Championships, W3E Company Clash, and W3E Premier League. The three competitions will occur in the future EV.IO first-person shooter arena on Solana.

The W3E Creator Championships, which will take place on February 23, 2023, will bring together some of the most well-known content producers and Web3 personalities, including BoredElon, CryptoStache, and Cagyjan.

The W3E Premier League, a 15-week competition to determine rankings in a point-based tournament format, will begin on March 9 and feature 16 esports teams.

Many Web3 developers concentrated on creating competitive games after the rise and fall of play-to-earn games in an effort to attract more ardent gamers to Web3. With its violent and thrilling bouts, EV.IO has established itself as a leading name in Web3 esports gaming.

Team leaders at W3E, Damian Bartlett, stated:

“Esports has always been about breaking barriers and honoring the best players. Web3 is the logical next step for competitive gaming, and as more games are made available, more people will play them. The use of technology will bring the fans and their favorite players even closer together.”

Competitive Web2 games like League of Legends and PUBG attract millions of players worldwide, have huge prize pools to entice the best players, and have created an entirely new financial model for the gaming industry. Web3-based games like Axie Infinity, meanwhile, heralded a new era in gaming.

In 2022, Web3 gaming received investments totaling over $4 billion, according to a report by Metaverse Post. With 530 million viewers and great sponsorships from companies like Coca-Cola, Red Bull, Audi, and T-Mobile, esports may end up being the best method to attract new Web3 users.

Even while the Web3 esports community is still relatively new, its enthusiasm is palpable. Theta Labs’ Kyle Laffey, director of partnerships, said:

“Having the W3E tournament feeds on our network makes us very happy. We are thrilled to participate and help define the future of Web3 esports because of the extraordinary enthusiasm and involvement for the W3E Championships event during Istanbul Blockchain Week.”

Competitive gaming and esports may be the best sectors to attract players to Web3 games, which are still searching for a sizable audience and a market fit. Esports, with their well-known fast-paced action, intense competition, and distinctive monetization structures, can be the ideal approach to entice new players into this quickly expanding industry.
