Vista Land to launch casino complex

December 5, 2022 Philippines Casino & Hotel

VISTA Land and Lifescapes Inc. will launch a casino and entertainment complex in 2023.

In an interview with reporters, Vista Land Chairman Manuel Villar said he will convert the Global South Vista mall into a casino and entertainment complex that will have a total floor area of 18,000 square meters.

“Yes, it will push through. In fact, we are launching early next year since the casino has already been built as we are just converting the mall,” Villar said. “We also have gotten the proper licenses and permissions as well.”

The project is located in the Las Piñas-Parañaque area near the Ninoy Aquino International Airport and will feature hotels, condominiums, a mall, a casino and a theme park.

The project will be handled by Prime Asset Ventures Inc. through its wholly owned subsidiaries Vertex Entertainment and Resort Corp. Prime Asset is led by Manuel Paolo Villar.

Villar said the complex will not be all about the casino but will be a place for shopping, dining and entertainment, much like the developments of Disney or Marina Bay Sands in Singapore.

“The casino will be just one of the attractions of the entertainment component, as there are plenty of more things to do,” he added.

He said that they will partner with a foreign gaming company for the operation of the casino but declined to disclose the name of the company.

In addition, Villar said his flagship real estate firm Vista Land and Lifescapes Inc. will be more aggressive in launching residential projects in 2023, noting they had to scale down operations during the first three years of the pandemic.

“We will definitely be more active in housing this coming year,” he said. “We have been holding back for three years as despite remaining active in the market, we did not push as much compared to the other developers.”

With the situation now improving with the reopening of the economy, Villar said they will start developing more vertical projects.

“Land is getting to be more expensive. Next year we will have more vertical projects, with the company’s focus skewing around 55 to 60 percent toward that,” he said.Depending on height restrictions in various sites, he said they will also be building both high-rise and mid-rise condominiums to cater to various segments of the market.
