China will release data for October on property prices, industrial production and retail sales. This comes on the back of the financial fallout, after a growth slowdown and a string of debt defaults by Chinese developers.

South Korea-Singapore travel lane opens

Asia will have a major travel corridor from Monday, with South Korea and Singapore connected through a reciprocal “vaccinated travel lane.” People fully jabbed against COVID-19 will be allowed to travel between the two countries without quarantine on arrival. This adds to a growing trend of border easing in Asia as inoculation rates increase, enabling more economic activity in the region.

Langkawi opens to foreign tourists

Malaysia starts to welcome international tourists to leisure haven Langkawi Island, the first influx since the March 2020 border closure. Fully-vaccinated tourists from all but 11 countries are allowed to enter the island by air. They will be subjected to frequent testing but no quarantine.
