On Monday, the Esports Players Welfare Association (EPWA) was launched to prevent exploitation of India’s esports industry talent, with the platform offering a list of services that esports players can avail at a nominal subscription fee. IGN India spoke with Ritesh Nath, the association’s CEO and Founder, and Shivani Jha, Director of EPWA, to find out more about EPWA’s origins, its goals and how it may prove to be a stepping stone in bringing in more regulations around esports in the country.
